Julie’s latest novel Opera (Claret Press, September 2022) is available in book shops and at Amazon . This is the third in a series of political thrillers featuring a female investigator. The first, Plague and second Oracle are also published by Claret Press.

Julie has also written a two book series set in southern Spain during the 13th century. The first of these, Reconquista, was long listed for Mslexia Children’s Novel, 2016. The second, The Silver Rings was published in 2018.  She has also written a collection of linked short stories – The Village; A Year in Twelve Tales.  For four years she edited The Story Bazaar Compendium, an annual collection of articles, reviews and short fiction by varying contributors to The Story Bazaar web-site.

Julie is Chair of Trustees of Clapham Writers the not for profit organisation responsible for the Clapham Book Festival, an annual celebration of books and reading in south London. She also curates literary events elsewhere in London, such as at the Lambeth Country Show and Storytelling at the Crystal Palace Overground Festival. She occasionally reviews for Time & Leisure magazine.

Born in Worcestershire, Julie lives in Clapham, south London.
